Okay I have a plan and the plan is thus...
~This blog shall become a website, and the a new blog will be located here: http://upsaid.com/codi.
~The entries on this blog will remain here in some sort of archived format (yet to be fully thought upon) until such time as I have paid for upsaid premium then they'll be transferred to the new location.
~The new website will be the home of my online self but in no way be linked to my true identity, I shall remain known as codi here.

While I'm working on the new site...
I was having a fantastic time today, enjoying a post-Samhain meet with the Funky Bunch, when my phone rang and it was the police informing me I’m required at court to give evidence on Wednesday. My subsequent thought process went something like, ‘Hang on a sec, I was told WEEKS ago that I wouldn’t be required, I’ve got assessment due this week and now FOUR DAYS previous to court I’m getting a phone call? I mean I was FIRMLY told I did not have to attend, I could have been overseas or something!’ what I actually said was “Okay, thanks!”
So that’s my week shot, I’m rescheduling stuff right now but I’m ticked about it, courts shouldn’t assume the rest of the world revolves around them, how unprofessional! There was one positive about the whole conversation though, apparently the person I’m testifying against didn’t show up for a separate inditement this week so when she arrives at court she’ll be arrested again. Karma. If she’s a no-show Wednesday she’ll have two more warrants against her name, which could even compensate for the hassle of having to reschedule the hearing.
After the call I settled into my outing and had a great time chatting and basking in the calm atmosphere that seems to pervade the Bunch meetings. We wrapped up our time in the park with a shopping trip and I finally bought myself a copy of Cuningham’s ‘Guide for the Solitary Practitioner’, that and some incense.

A connection inside my computer isn't working and if I open the case I'll void the warranty, so I have to send it to the shop for a fix.
So today I'm franticly trying to back things up before I ship to the warehouse for tec. support. (Support being a relative term because they only work 9am-5pm and never on public holidays), and I realise that DUH I'm not going to be able to back up properly because my burner is no longer communicating with the other drives.
Thus I will spend my night compressing and up-loading vital files to my webhost and crossing my fingers that the 'fix' doesn't involve a wipe. That would suck.

Best Mate and I went out for a post-Easter catch up last night. It was great seeing her, although she was in a funny mood due to some lover-related issues. I love her, and would die for her, but she drives me to distraction with her analysis of all the relationships in her life. She's doing a test with everyone at the moment to see if people actually call her or if she's the only one doing the work to maintain a friendship. I can see where she's coming from, but I do think she'll freak herself out and it's a situation with major fight potential because she'll get resentful if someone doesn't call during her test period. Ack - her issues not mine. Besides I've passed so I'm not in any trouble LOL.
Vinnny's http://www.vinnies.org.au/ benefited from my long weekend. I finally bagged up all my old books, clothes, toys, assorted stuff and ran them down to the donation bin, and yes I made extra sure that I put the gear INSIDE the bin so it didn't get ripped off. A person's got to be really low to steal from a charity, but there are low people out there.
I wanted to get rid of my old CDs at cash converters but my sister wants to raid them first so that'll have to wait.
It was refreshing to see my carpet after so long being surrounded by boxes and gladbags http://www.glad.com/ , I celebrated with a chocolate bunny.

I don't know what's going on with spam lately but this trend of masking with a plausible name and silly subject question is getting really old. Here's a clue guys, unless I have a mate called Zackary Gregory (and the parent's would have been twisted to do that to the poor mite), I'm probably not going to check the subject. Then if by some wild twist of fate Zack is actually my friend he wouldn't be for five more minutes if he sent me a whiney email with 'why don't you like me' as the subject.
God, spammers are just strange, but even stranger are the legislators here in Australia who think they can actually make the practice illegal. Giggle, Giggle, Snort.
Yeah that's going to happen!

Angus and Robertson the Myer Center is closing. Well it's probably closed as I type but it was 'closing' yesterday when I went in a snaffled a few 20% off novels. I hate when good book stores close and I hate it even more when it's one of the stores within five minutes of where I spend my days.
Now I only have Borders (aka the overpriced american store), or if I want to dodge the foodcourt people, QBD on level.Q of the Myer Center (aka the cheep australian store), and they're just stupidly extreme in terms of price and title availability. And they don't carry Anita Blake at a reasonable price. And did I mention I hate when good book stores close? Poo.

Oh joy, a serious possibility in the burger flipping industry, and while I dread becoming a monkey again I will do anything for cash at this point. Besides, mindless familiar work is what works best for me as a slave to academia.
Hmm...

Did Easter today at my place.
It's always been like this with special occasions (as far as I can remember anyhow) because everyone in my family works shifts. If it wasn't a total lack of time off it was 4am starts and midnight finishes. Take Christmas for instance, last year we completely changed the day because Mum was working (or was it Dad? shit, I can never remember things like that).
We don't have any great bother with doing this because all our relatives are overseas. That's right, I don't have to worry about crazy aunts and meddling grandparents, they're all far, far away and that's the way we love it. In primary school my mates would complain because their long weekends were filled with commitments their parents forced them to attend so respective parental in-laws wouldn't get narky, and I just used to sit there and smirk. They did get back at me in the present department though.
But they're all off at BBQs and Park outings this weekend, and I'm not so I got the better deal in the long run. He He!
Hope there's lots of chocolate in your weekend! And I hope you manage to dodge your crazy aunts!
