I just want to know how people can believe that the duct tape will really save them from a chemical weapon if air is already managing to enter through double glazing.

One good thing about classes starting again is that I’ll be able to avoid things like watching Jerry Springer (well at least for the next few months). I can’t believe they’re still showing the same daytime crap that was on in highschool... and Ricky Lake? Ekch, I firmly believe those shows will eventually reduce daytime audiences to piles of brainless jelly. They're so damn insidious and addicting.

I’d forgotten what it was like after a fistfight.

I haven’t posted in the last couple of days because I’ve had a splitting headache. On Monday I was out shopping with my sister when a former associate of her’s attacked her. I intervened Fight ensued. But justice prevailed when RandomMentalCase was arrested and I was not.

But you tend to forget something about fights when you don’t have them for a while. You know what I'm talking about???

That unique creepy ache the following day. Just a bit more painful than a serious work-out but not near as painful as walking into the pointy edge of a table.

And am I the only person on earth who takes three days to bruise? Seriously? Because the day after the ‘tiff’ I hurt in my arms a bit and my head really hurt but I had nothing to show for it. Not a red mark, not a scratch, nothing.

Now after a couple of days I wake up feeling back to normal, but when I look in the mirror I look bad. You can see individual finger marks where I was grabbed on my arm and my hands are bruised over the knuckles. My poor head is blue over a fair sized area but you can only see hints of it at my hairline.

Know what really bothered me though?

I broke my less-than-a-week-old-mobile. So I’ve gotten yet another one, which brings me to my grand total of three already this year. Bugger. At least the SIM was okay this time.

Small Blessings Hey?

So there’s my reason for not posting for a couple of days, my fingers were a bit tender and my head ached like a SOB.

That’ll teach me to protect my little sis, LOL!

Mmm... today I went to the peace rally, not the March, but the Rally at the Riverstage. Let me just say that the atmosphere was amazing, there were so many people in this one little space they ended up turning people back by the thousands so there’d be no crush incidents (since the death of Jessica at big day out people have been better about crowd control).

By pure coincidence I was dressed in what most of the young socialists were wearing - red shirts, black cargo pants, and boots - so I wasn’t questioned while I ran around snapping pictures (as sometimes happens).

My fave. shot of the day doesn’t have anything protest-y about it at all. It was taken as most of the people were leaving to go home - click the thumbnail to see a larger shot (fair warning it’s about 80k).

I find I’m suddenly avoiding one of my netfriends.

It didn’t start out as an intentional thing. I’d been offline for a few weeks because of Christmas, new years and a fair chunk of other holiday crap and then it just happened that when I was online she was not. And yesterday I looked at the calendar and saw that I haven’t spoken with her in almost two months.

Damn.

Now I’m in the position of feeling bad for seemingly ignoring her when I didn’t even realise I’d been doing it. I hate when things like that happen. And because there are days when I'm nothing more than a ball of frustration and aviodance I've been keeping my IM turned off this week so I don't have to deal with the situation.

god I am SUCH a coward
